Why is Chapter 11 trying to kill me?

The Sacrifice of Ava Black is being edited at the moment and there are many parts of it that have to be completely deleted or rewritten. It has been painful seeing thousands, yes thousands, of words just being erased. It took me a full 24 hours to make the decision to delete one part in particular. I really like that part in the story, but it just didn't fit any longer. Still, over 1700 words, just gone.

Chapter 10 was a doozy, but Chapter 11 is out to get me. If I die from stress, just know it was all Chapter 11! I've been working on that thing for 3 days now. I may have it sorted out, but we'll see.

Moving on, I think editing is another reason I like poetry so much. It's simple, but complex. Finding the right words to fit the flow and mood can be challenging, but I don't have to axe big chunks of it when I'm done. There are plenty of them that I don't share though. Sometimes, they are really personal and other times it's because they are just not good. LOL!

However, I do find a gem now and then. Or at least I think they're worth sharing. Perhaps others can resonate with them as well.

Recently, I was interviewed by Carol Ann Kauffman at Vision and Verse. If you'd like to read that you can by clicking this link below.

Interviews are fun and nerve-wracking at the same time. It gives me the opportunity to reach readers and other authors, but it also puts me in the spotlight. I'm afraid to say the wrong thing sometimes. I have been known to stick my foot in my mouth from time-to-time when I should just zip it.

So, none-author-stuff, (and late to the game) but I recently started watching Clone Wars with my little guys! I like having things I can do (or watch) outside of writing. I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan so to have my babies love it, too, has made this Nerd Momma so happy!

I'll be honest, I didn't watch it at first because I didn't like the animation. Don't @ me! I'm sorry! But now that I'm actually into the story, I love it! It helps that the boys love it, too.

Lastly, along with my weekly blog posts, I am going to try to do a condensed monthly newsletter. This is all geared toward my release for The Sacrifice of Ava Black. The more people I reach, like you guys, the more successful (hopefully) my release will be. So, if you would like to sign up for those newsletters, you can click here, or just sign up under the tab on my website:

Be kind and stay safe!
