Revisions and New Books
If you have followed my journey with The Sacrifice of Ava Black, my new YA Paranormal book, then you know it started out as a project on WattPad. For some reason, WattPad wouldn't give me access to my account so I couldn't finish it. I had to create a new account and transfer files over and by that time, I was burned out. So, I decided to just finish the book on my computer because that's where the majority of it was.
Fast Foward about a year later and the book is nearly done, besides revisions and edits, with two more books planned, and a book cover! I am now on Chapter 9 out of 13 in my revisions. Chapter 9 is being a beast because this is where the most work needs to be done and let's just say my characters are being on their best behavior. Bah! Yeah, sure...
Why you might ask, did I decide to do revisions on a story that was complete? It's not because I'm crazy. Well, I'm a little crazy, but that has only a small amount to do with it. A few months ago, I woke up around 2:30 in the morning with this idea with how my main characters were going to interact with each other. That small thought exploded into the new version of The Sacrifice of Ava Black.
I could have left it the way it was, but I feel like this has made the story better. It also would have driven me insane to ignore my characters screaming at me to change things, too. Characters talk to us, it's true.
Now, there is another story that has started to speak to me. For over 10 years I have been working on a Fantasy series. I have numerous handwritten notes and chunks of story that have just been lying around. It is so scattered and none of it makes much sense, but it's actually talking to me again, so I have to listen.
If you could understand the desire I have to get this story on the page and out into the world, then you would know why I'm listening to it so intensely at the moment. So, while I'm working on Ava's story, I am going to be working on Stanely's story, the main character of the fantasy series, which has a working title of Seven Stones: The Blue Stone Rider. Yes there are dragons.
I plan to spend two days here and two days there dedicating time to their stories. We all know how plans go, but we shall see. Thankfully, the amazing Lilly Brown has dedicated some of her valuable time to help me sort out my notes for Seven Stones. Pray for her, she's going to need it!
The last thing I wanted to share with you is my interview with Renae at Renea's Sip Chat. She took time with me and two other authors to talk about our works.
Thanks so much for stopping by to read my ramblings! Stay safe and be well.
