Poetry and TikTok (and I got new glasses)
New glasses, who dis?
It was time. I haven't had a new pair of glasses in a few years. When you're a migraine sufferer, that's not a good idea. I was super nervous about going to the optometrist because of Covid. However, it wasn't as bad as I thought. The office staff stayed fully masked, constantly washed their hands, and we were the only people in there. It was very quick, and it put me at ease. I can't wait until all of this is over! I'm sure the rest of you feel the way as well.
If you're in my FB group or follow my on Instagram then you're probably pretty aware of the fact that I share my poetry on social media. It's mostly an Instagram thing, but I have ventured into the unknown and started a TikTok...thing. I'm showing my age here because I have no idea what I am doing.
Still, I'm learning and so far I've had a decent response. I've only posted a couple of videos because I don't do well in front of the camera. So, it's mostly just pictures of my poems. I might get there...but probably not! LOL!
If you want to follow me it's under @agporterbookz (a 'Z' because I'm cool!) If not, here's my latest poem.
I'm not sure if most poets (am I a poet?) do this, but when I write poetry, I hear a song in my head. There's at least a beat most of the time. I even sing it out loud sometimes and if I'm not in a situation where I can jot it down I'll voice record it. It's not something I would ever let anyone listen to, but I did that with this poem.
I truly hope that everyone is well and you're staying safe. In my heart, I know if we all work together it won't be much longer before things can get back to normal!
